Welcome from our Headteacher
Welcome to Woodfield Special School, part of the Compass Learning Partnership Multi Academy Trust
At Woodfield, our vision is clear and deeply rooted in our community: creating a community of lifelong learners where every young person feels valued, challenged, and supported to achieve their full potential.
We are proud to serve pupils aged 11–19 with a wide range of complex learning needs. Our expertise spans Autism, Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties, and a diverse range of learner profiles. Across the school, we offer a personalised, stimulating and aspirational curriculum designed to equip every pupil with the knowledge, skills and independence needed for a fulfilling adulthood.
Our mission is to provide a secure, enjoyable and engaging environment where students feel proud of their achievements and are encouraged to strive for excellence. Staff at Woodfield are highly skilled in assessing individual development and planning small, meaningful steps that build towards Preparation for Adulthood — academically, socially, emotionally and in readiness for participation in the wider community.
We are guided by our shared values – our Bill of Rights – which sit at the heart of our culture:
- Democracy: Every pupil has a voice.
- Individual Liberty: We support pupils to make the right choices.
- Rule of Law: Our rules keep us safe.
- Mutual Respect & Tolerance: We recognise, respect and celebrate our rich diversity.
As members of the Compass Learning Partnership, we are part of a Trust committed to equity, inclusion and excellence, where learning is viewed as an exciting adventure and every pupil is supported to thrive. We believe in high expectations for all, strong relationships, and ensuring that every family feels they belong within our community.
Achievement at Woodfield is celebrated widely — not only academic progress, but effort, resilience, communication, independence and personal growth. Our partnership with parents and carers is fundamental, and we work closely together to ensure learners experience success and feel safe, supported and understood.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Woodfield School. We are always open to hearing how we can continue to grow and improve. Together, we will continue to build a school where every learner feels empowered, included, and ready for their future.
